SHEREEN ARAZM
INTRODUCES SHAG HOLLYWOOD
A Nightlife Experience That Fuses Hollywood Glitz With Aesthetic
Opulence And Style To Create The Perfect Mix Of Beautiful “Scene” And
Beautiful Scenery
(Los
Angeles, CA – June 2006) When the reigning princess of LA nightlife
Shereen Arazm, introduces a new venue, it is nothing short of visual
perfection fused with wall to wall soul. On the heels of an
unprecedented success with El Centro, Concorde and most recently Geisha
House, LA Nightlife's newest and loveliest impresario introduces Shag, a
nightclub/ restaurant that will transport even the most discerning
scenester from the heart of Hollywood to a mid-century design inspired
color- infused playground for the senses.
Tracie Butler of Tracie Butler Interior Design transformed the 5100 sq
ft indoor / outdoor Cahuenga Boulevard space into a mid-century
inspired, playground-for-the-rich. Shag is the epitome of seductive
regency design. Murano glass chandeliers and wall sconces, crystal vases
filled with lilies and orchids, sheered tented ceiling over the black
terrazzo dance floor with its flecked mother of pearl and mirrored
inlay. The hand-stacked limestone bar and custom white stone terrazzo
floors fill the club through out. Vintage wall coverings made with glass
beads, Missoni inspired banquette seating, white lacquered table tops,
red silk velvet drapery, an original Italian mirrored wall sculpture, a
spectacular 600 pound Venetian crystal chandelier – it all fills the
room with a glistening elegance.
The main room houses an enclosed VIP area, with four large circular
booths overlooking the dance floor, upholstered in soft leopard velvet,
seamlessly meeting leopard carpeting. Adjacent to the dance floor in the
rear of the room is the DJ booth with its padded deep cherry vinyl
walls. The main bar runs the length of the room and faces both the
interior and exterior patio space, a posh smoking area with its
fifteen-foot Vintage Park rose-colored mirrored walls.
Located to the left of the main entrance is a second and more intimate
outdoor patio and bar, rimmed with plush bench seating and vintage
sea-urchin crystal pendants lamps from a Greek shipping heir’s yacht.
The white patent leather tufted chaise with its sultry headboard serves
as the area’s focal point.
In addition, Shag also offers booth and patio dining on Monday, Friday
and Saturday evenings from 9pm until midnight. The menu, created by Chef
John Gladish, has selections including mini burgers, grilled lamb chops
and mini ice cream cones.
